Gemma has lived in Ottawa since 2015, having moved from the UK where she worked for 10 years in communications and stakeholder management for the public sector. She holds a BSc in Geology from the University of Leicester – which she obtained longer ago than she cares to remember – and is still as interested in rocks and dinosaurs as she was back then.

In her spare time, Gemma enjoys reading all sorts, gardening, crafts, and dressing up in geeky costumes to attend popular culture conventions; all of which she writes about on her own blog.
